Data Life Cycles in Materials Modelling and Characterisation
On April 7, 2025, the MatCHMaker project successfully hosted the workshop “Data Life Cycles in the World of Materials Modelling and Characterisation” at TU Wien in Vienna, Austria. The on-site event was organised in collaboration with the European Materials Modelling Council (EMMC) and brought together experts and project partners to explore the critical stages of data management in materials science.
Bringing Sister Projects Together
The workshop featured presentations from the MatCHMaker project and its sister projects—AddMorePower, AID4GREENEST, CoBRAIN, D-Standart, and KNOWSKITE-X. Project representatives shared their perspectives and their approaches to various stages of the Data Life Cycle, including planning, acquiring, processing, analysing, preserving, and sharing data.

The event sparked valuable discussions and laid the groundwork for future collaborations. We are enthusiastic about continuing joint activities that foster synergies across projects and promote a more integrated European research landscape in materials modelling and characterisation.
