Unlocking the Future of Materials Science: How Open Data and Collaborative Platforms Drive Innovation
This webinar introducing the MatCHMaker Open Repository provided an overview of an open platform for data-driven materials science across Europe. The session focused on building both conceptual understanding and practical experience in navigating, using, and contributing to the repository, with the aim of strengthening collaboration and innovation across research and industrial communities.
During the webinar, it was demonstrated how the repository supports FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data practices through its collection of datasets and validated modelling tools. It was shown how shared resources can support applications across academia, industry, and technology development, while improving knowledge transfer and facilitating the integration of existing results into R&D and production processes.
By the end of the webinar, participants had gained practical insights into contributing to and benefiting from a Europe-wide ecosystem for materials science data and modelling, supporting more open, connected, and innovation-driven research and development practices.
