Unlocking the Future of Materials Science: How Open Data and Collaborative Platforms Drive Innovation
Date: April 15, 2026
Time: 10:00-11:00 CEST
A webinar introducing the MatCHMaker Open Repository, equipping participants to use and contribute FAIR data and modelling tools for enhanced collaboration and innovation in materials science.
The MatCHMaker Project: Open Repository invites researchers, data scientists, engineers, and industry professionals to a training webinar exploring an open platform for data-driven materials science across Europe. This session will equip participants with both conceptual knowledge and practical skills to navigate, utilise, and contribute to the repository, maximising the impact of shared data and tools across research, development, and industrial innovation.
The repository hosts FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) datasets and validated modelling tools, supporting applications across academia, industry, and technology development sectors. By engaging with the platform, participants will enhance their ability to transfer knowledge, integrate existing results into R&D and production processes, and foster cross-sector collaboration and innovation.
Through hands-on examples and real-world use cases, attendees will gain insight into the repository’s features and architecture, deepen their understanding of FAIR data principles and collaborative workflows, apply datasets and tools to their own research or industrial projects, analyse the impact of shared resources on efficiency and innovation, evaluate strategies for integrating new digital methods into their workflows, and create opportunities for collaboration and novel outcomes.
By the end of the webinar, participants will be empowered to actively contribute to a Europe-wide ecosystem of materials science resources, driving efficiency, innovation, and shared progress across both research and industry.
Registration will be available online in due course.
